Settlement is a new beginning for me: Anil Ambani

Mumbai: After reaching an settlement with his elder brother Mukesh Ambani on the ownership issue, Reliance Energy Ltd chairman Anil Ambani said the settlement is a new beginning for him and RIL, the group flagship, will continue to scale greater heights under "undisputed" leadership of Mukesh.

Addressing the waiting media persons at Reliance Centre in South Mumbai, he expressed his deep gratitude towards his mother Kokilaben for love, blessing and guidance.

"I recall with fondness the love, affection and support of thousands of colleagues at RIL which I take with me as I stand on the dawn of a new life,", Anil said.

"I wish my respected elder brother Mukesh the very best for the future and I am confident that under his leadership, Reliance Industries will continue to scale ever greater heights," he added.

"This is a new beginning for me. In the days and years ahead, I am committed to creating value and adhering to the highest standards of governance," Anil said.

"I am really fortunate to be part of my father's extraordinary legacy.

Dhirubhai Ambani created something unique for the people of our great country-India," he said adding, "I am proud to be able to carry on his (Dhirubhai's) legacy in creating a strong global enterprise."

Anil also acknowledged support of his wife Tina, his sisters Dipti and Nina as well as brothers-in-law Raj and Shyam.

He also thanked his friends, shareholders and well wishers for supporting him in "trying" times.
