The issue of hike in the petroleum product prices, a political hot potato, did not come up at the meeting between the Left parties and the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) Government at the Centre today (Jun 19, 2005).
"The issue did not come up for discussion", Communist Party of India Marxist (CPM) leader Polit Bureau member Sitaram Yechury told reporters after the meeting which was also attended by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi and Finance Minister P Chidambaram.
