Great prospects for Emerson Technologies: Ledford
Thursday, June 16 2005 17:22 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

Pune: There was a great opportunity for Emerson Technologies in the field of power generation, Dr Randall D. Ledford, senior vice president and chief technology officer of the company said.

The company expected 60 percent of its revenue to come from outside USA in the next two to three years, of which 20 percent would be generated from Asia, he said at a CEO Forum organised by Maharatta Chamber of Commerce, Industries and Agriculture in Pune today (Jun 16, 2005).

As about India's future, he said that if India did not take steps to tackle the lurking danger of double digit inflation, increase in salaries, shortage of power and band width, interest rates and logistic-related issues, many multi-nationals would be forced to seek out to other countries in Asia like China and East Europe for investment.

Emerson Design Engineering Centre in Pune was set up in 2003 with 16 people and now has 242 people on board and will grow to 600 in two years, he said, adding that unless Pune gears up its infrastructure it may end up as Bangalore.
