Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) recorded net purchases of Rs 783.1 crore ($180.1 million) in equities for the trading week ended June 10 while mutual funds (MFs) were net purchasers at Rs 58.39 crore.
The foreign funds were net sellers at a paltry Rs 10 lakh in the debt market for the period under review, according to the data available with the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) in Mumbai.
The mutual funds were net purchasers in the debt market at Rs 879.37 crore.
Overseas funds were net sellers in equities on all trading days of the week.
The foreign funds recorded highest net inflow of the trading week in equities at Rs 293.50 crore ($67.50 mn) on June 10.
MFs recorded highest net purchases in the equity market on June 8 when they purchased equity worth Rs 46.38 crore followed by purchases to the tune of Rs 23.60 crore on June
7.
The highest purchases by MFs in debt market were on June 8 at Rs 400.61 crore.
The Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) during the week under review saw the Sensex gaining 24.99 per cent to close at 6781.99.
