Tata Group has "lots of investment plans" in Karnataka, where it has proposed to take up projects in a short period time, its chairman Ratan N Tata said today (Jun 10, 2005).
Tata met Karnataka Chief Minister N Dharam Singh and Major Industries Minister P G R Sindhia in Bangalore and discussed issues on investments and projects.
Both sides declined to talk on specifics after the meeting.
"I will come back with people (from the Group to finalise) to discuss the areas in which we can make investments. We will reinvest in a major way in Karnataka",
Tata said.
He chose not to talk on the plans. "Let the projects commence", Tata said. "We have lots of investment plans in Karnataka and also other plans", he said but did not elaborate.
Singh said Tata would come back with a team of company officials for detailed discussions.
Singh said the State offered areas such as mining, automobile, IT and BT sectors for investment.
