FIIs net purchasers in equities at Rs 367.6 crore Sunday, June 5 2005 09:44 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

Foreign Institutional Investors (FIIs) recorded net purchases of Rs $367.6 crore ($84.1 million) in equities for the trading week ended June 3, while mutual funds (MFs) were net sellers at Rs 302.65 crore.
The foreign funds did not participate in the debt market for the period under review, according to the data available with the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) in Mumbai.
The mutual funds were net purchasers in the debt market at Rs 1209.12 crore.
Overseas funds were net sellers in equities on four trading days of the week.
The foreign funds recorded highest net outflow of the trading week in equities at Rs 446.90 crore ($102.30 mn) on May 30.
They registered highest purchases on June 1, when they picked up equity of Rs 298.50 ($68.30 mn).
MFs recorded highest net purchases in the equity market on May 18 when they purchased equity worth Rs 446.29 crore.
They purchased shares to the tune of Rs 374.53 crore on May 16.
MFs were sellers in the for three days but purchased shares to the tune of Rs 20.31 crore on June 1, 2005.
The highest purchases by MFs in debt market were on June 2, at Rs 692.20 crore.
The Stock Exchange, Mumbai, (BSE) during the week under review, saw the Sensex gaining 0.68 per cent to close at 6753 points.
