BSE: Sensex weakens by 5.26 pts at opening session

Mumbai: The Sensex today (Jun 3, 2005) started higher, but declined due to fresh selling and was quoted 5.26 points lower than yesterday's (Jun 2, 2005) close during the early trading on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).

The BSE benchmark 30-share sensitive index resumed firm at 6664.98 against yesterday's (Jun 2, 2005) close of 6655.56 and rose further to 6680.73.

Thereafter, it declined on fresh bouts of selling and after dropping to a low of 6647.69, was quoted at 6650.30 at 10:30 hrs (IST), showing a moderate fall of 5.26 points over the last close.

During the early trading a large number of index-based shares like Infosys Tech, L&T, ITC, BHEL, Tata Motors, Tata Power, Tata Steel, Satyam Comp, Maruti, Ranbaxy, Dr Reddy, ACC, Bajaj Auto, Cipla, GACL, Hero Honda and HLL remained weak on selling pressure.

However, a few scrips such as RIL, REL, Bharti, Grasim, HDFC Bank, Hindalco, ICICI Bank, SBI, Wipro and Zee Tele found some support and were quoted higher.
