New Delhi: The applications of Star-Tata joint venture and Kalanidhi Maran's Sun TV to start Direct-to-Home broadcast services in the Country have been cleared by the Government.

"Both applications now confirm to stipulated guidelines and we will be issuing the letter of intent to them in a day or two," newly appointed Information and Broadcasting Secretary S K Arora told newspersons.

The Rs 1600 crore Star-Tata joint venture for DTH services had been facing hurdles for more than a year at the Ministry level.
