US networking firm Packeteer today (May 13, 2005) said that it plans to scale up its operations in India, including having 5 per cent of its global headcount in India and more regional and national systems integrators as partners.
Packeteer president and CEO Dave Cote said in Bangalore that the company's India operations, officially commenced an year ago, continued to grow strongly in order to address the fast growing outsourcing requirements of MNCs and also the growing local market, in particular the financial sector, Government and the service providers.
"In the next one year, five per cent of our field headcount worldwide would be from India", Arturo Cazares, vice-president, Sales, Packeteer, said.
Future plan includes increasing employee headcount and having more regional and national systems integrator as partners, Cote said.
The company, a leader in WAN Application Traffic Management, was in the process of educating industries about its WAN solutions and was also conducting extensive research on the Indian market, they said.
Packeteer has shipped over 40,000 units worldwide, including 700 units to India.
Packeteer's revenues were reported at $ 92 million globally last fiscal and the company currently employs about 300 worldwide.
