Satyam strengthens its offshore leadership in SAP Thursday, May 5 2005 18:50 Hrs (IST) - World Time -
Bangalore:
Satyam Computer Services Limited, a global Consulting and IT services company, today (May 5, 2005) became one of the first Indian offshore players to embrace Enterprise Services Architecture (ESA) service offering it as part of its SAP practice.
SAP's blueprint for services-oriented architecture, ESA is powered by SAP NetWeaver - a comprehensive open integration and application platform from SAP, Manish Mehta, director and senior vice-president- SAP Application Development Management
Services (ADMS) said.
With a significant shift in Enterprise Application space and increasing demand for flexibility and agility from customers, "early adoption of ESA was the answer", he told reporters in Bangalore.
ESA enables organisations to be innovative, flexible and agile in adapting to changes in the market by increasing focus on business processes and building adaptability, he said.
Nearly 25,000 present and future customers of SAP are expected to adopt SAP NetWeaver /ESA over the next few years and the market potential for SAP ESA "promises to be huge", Mehta said.
This service offering would help Satyam's SAP customers "adapt to change, improve their competitive edge for a lower cost of ownership while leveraging IT investments", he said.
Satyam's adoption of ESA and SAP NetWeaver "will leverage our partnership with it and help us move on to the business process platform which we will deliver by the end of this year", Simon Dale, vice-president, SAP NetWeaver/BPP, SAP Asia-Pacific, said through a video conference.
In an effort to strengthen its offshore leadership in SAP, Satyam had established a SAP NetWeaver Centre of Excellence (CoE) last year and trained consultants in SAP NetWeaver which it proposes to expand in the coming months, Mehta said.
The company has already undertaken SAP NetWeaver engagements in sectors including telecom, banking, hi-tech and retail.
