Bangalore: Sweden-based SmartTrust, developer of software-based infrastructure solutions for the mobile telecommunications industry, and Wipro Technologies today (May 4, 2005) announced a tie-up for accelerated delivery of mobile device management solutions to mobile operators globally.

Wipro's team in Bangalore would add capacity to SmartTrust's existing Stockholm-based development teams and both would work towards the delivery of next generation of subscriber-aware mobile device management solutions, senior executives said.

Wipro would provide software development and testing services under the agreement announced to reporters in Bangalore by SmartTrust CEO Paul Cuss and Dr A L Rao, President, Telecom Solutions, Wipro Technologies.

Cuss said sophistication of today's mobile technologies brings a challenge to mobile operators to ensure that their customers' mobile phones are correctly configured to access revenue generating services such as MMS, email and content downloads including games, music and video.

The partnership with Wipro, he said, ensures that the development of SmartTrust solutions continue to meet the demands of today's complex mobile network environment.

SmartTrust's solutions had been deployed by 200 mobile networks across 45 countries, he said. Privately held SmartTrust has grown 20 to 23 per cent in revenues year on year and looked at India as the "most important market" in the Asia-Pacific, Cuss said.
