No pressure from IMF and WB for VAT: Dasgupta
The chairman of the empowered committee for Value Added Tax (VAT), Dr Ashim Dasgupta today (May 3, 2005) denied that the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) Government was keen to introduce the tax in the country due to pressures from the International Monitory Fund (IMF) and the World Bank.

Sensex ends with further gains, up by 22 points

'India to open retail sector to foreign investment'
