Sensex bounces back; up by 22.39 pts in early trade Monday, May 2 2005 10:51 Hrs (IST) - World Time -  Mumbai:
The Sensex today (May 2, 2005) bounced back during the opening session on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) on emergence of heavy buying activity at lower level and was quoted 22.39 points higher.
The BSE benchmark 30-share sensitive index opened the day on a firm note at 6183.07 as against Friday's (Apr 29, 2005) close of 6154.44 and soon shot up to 6223.78.
However, it declined moderately to 6159.73. Later, the Index looked up again and was quoted at 6176.83 at 10:30 hrs (IST), showing a recovery of 22.39 points over the last close.
The market had fallen sharply during the last weekend as the Index crashed by 130 points due to heavy selling by investors.
The firm spots during the early trade were RIL, BPCL, REL, ITC, Satyam, Infosystch, Dr Reddy, GAIL, GACL, HDFC, HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank, MTNL, ONGC, PNB, SAIL, Tata Steel, Tata Motors, Wipro, IPCL, Maruti, HPCL and L&T.
