Sensex rises by 42 points during opening session Friday, April 22 2005 10:38 Hrs (IST) - World Time -  Mumbai:
The Sensex today (Apr 22, 2005) rose further at the opening session on the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) with a rise of 42 points on increased buying activity.
The BSE Benchmark 30-share sensitive index opened strong at 6329.85 as against yesterday's (Apr 21, 2005) close of 6299.20 and after rising further to 6374.03, was quoted at 6341.70 at 10:05 hrs (IST), showing a sharp rise of 42.50 over the last close.
During the early trade, a large number of shares like Wipro, Satyam Computers, ZEE Tele, SBI, GACL, HLL, ICICI Bank, ONGC, L&T, BHEL, Grasim, Hindalco, Sesa Goa, REL, HPCL, Cipla and Bharti Tele were sharply higher.
However, HDFC, HDFC bank, Tata Steel, Tata Motors and Maruti remained weak.
