Aiyar rules out any rise in petrol prices for now
Tuesday, April 5 2005 09:41 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

Barmer (Rajasthan): : Petroleum Minister Mani Shankar Aiyar yesterday (Apr 4, 2005) ruled out any immediate hike in prices of petrol and diesel though the prices of crude oil had increased in the international market.

The decision to hike the prices is to be taken by the Union Cabinet and not by the Petroleum Ministry, he told reporters in Barmer.

Pressed by reporters to divulge Government's intention on crude oil price hike, Aiyar said, "I have come for a happy and auspicious occasion to name the oil field well and for this purpose alone."
