Sensex zooms by 105 points higher at midsession Monday, March 28 2005 14:59 Hrs (IST) - World Time -  Mumbai:
The Sensex continued to rally at the midsession today (March 28, 2005) at the stock exchange, Mumbai (BSE) on persistent heavy buying activity and was 105 points higher than the previous close.
The 30-scrip sensitive index opened better at 6471.47 and shot up further on increased buying and was quoted at 6548.27 at around 13:10 hrs (IST), showing a remarkable rally of 105.40 points over the previous close of 6442.87.
Brokers described today's rally as technical bounce-back and added that after a series of falls as the Sensex had fallen by more than 208 points since March one, this was the right time to buy at the bottom levels.
The major gainers were ACC, Cipla, Dr Reddy, GACL, Grasim, HDFC, HDFC Bank, Hindalco, ICICI Bank, Infosystch, L&T, Maruti, ONGC, Ranbaxy, REL, RIL, Satyam Comp, SBI, Tata Power, Tata Steel, Wipro and Zee Tele.
However, Bajaj Auto, Bharti Tele, BHEL and ITC remained weak on lack of buying.
