New Delhi: Media mogul Rupert Murdoch, who is on a two-day visit to New Delhi, will meet Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, United Progressive Alliance (UPA) chairperson Sonia Gandhi and Information and Broadcasting Minister S Jaipal Reddy today (Mar 22, 2005).

Murdoch, who is accompanied by Star TV CEO Michelle Guthrie, arrived in Mumbai on Saturday (Mar 19, 2005) from Beijing to review the operations and new projects, including DTH, of Star Group.

Murdoch will call on the PM and Sonia Gandhi today. He will also meet Home Minister Shivraj Patil, sources said.

During his meetings with top Government functionaries, Murdoch is expected to seek expeditious clearance of Star-Tata DTH services through a joint venture, Space TV, as the Rs 1600 crore project is hanging fire for well over a year.

Murdoch will also meet Reddy and Commerce Minister Kamal Nath tomorrow (Mar 23, 2005) and is also expected to call on leader of Opposition L K Advani during his stay in Delhi.
