Petrol, diesel prices likely to be hiked next week
The Union Cabinet is likely to consider next week raising petrol prices by Rs 2.80 per litre and diesel by about Rs 2 per litre, a hike that has been necessitated due to sharp rise in international oil prices.

Employees Provident Fund Board meeting postponed
A meeting of the Employees Provident Fund (EPF) Board, scheduled to be held today (Mar 20, 2005) to decide ways to cover the estimated shortfall of Rs 927 crore due to hiked interest rate for this year (2005), has been postponed.

TDSAT begins proceedings against Star & SET India
The Telecom Disputes Settlement Appellate Tribunal (TDSAT) has initiated suo motu proceedings against Star TV network and SET India Pvt Ltd for violating its orders by disrupting their signals to a Kolkata-based Multi Service Operator (MSO) thereby depriving 58,000 subscribers for eight days.

India's GDP seen declining to 6.1pc in FY06: ADB
Asian Development Bank (ADB) today (Mar 20, 2005) forecast a lower 6.1 per cent economic growth for India's next fiscal from the estimated 6.9 per cent in 2004-05.
