Wipro Tech opens new office in Munich, Germany
Saturday, March 5 2005 14:38 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

New Delhi: Wipro Technologies today (Mar 5, 2005) said that it has opened a new office in Munich, Germany.

The Munich office, which opened on March 4, will be Wipro's third major centre in Germany, after Kiel and Dusseldorf, and marks the next phase of the company's plans for investment in expanding its German infrastructure, the company informed the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).

The opening of the Munich centre represents a significant step forward in Wipro's vision of becoming a truly global company with local operations in the countries it services its customers in, it said.

Europe represents 30 per cent of Wipro's global IT services revenues and is growing more than 50 per cent year-on-year, with Germany being one of the top potential growth markets.

Some of Wipro's key customers in Europe are Aviva, Prudential, Thames Water, Skandia, Loyalty Gate, Exel and TUI, it added.

"The opening of the Munich centre reflects the strategic importance of the German market in Wipro's European growth strategy and reiterates our commitment to the European market," said P R Chandrasekar, Chief Executive European Operations, Wipro Technologies.
