Bangalore: Oracle India Private Limited, the wholly owned subsidiary of Oracle Corporation, announced today (Feb 16, 2005) that IIT Roorkee has become the 42nd educational institution in India to join the Oracle Academic Initiative (OAI).

With this, Oracle software grants to Indian educational institutions now exceed $ 40 million, the company said in a statement.

"Via OAI, Oracle partners with educators globally, enabling them to utilise and deliver state-of-the-art Oracle software and curriculum in college/university classrooms," the statement said.
