New Delhi: A city court today (Feb 4, 2005) asked Delhi Police Special Cell to file status report by March 15 in the case filed against Reliance Infocomm for alleged violation of a law on pre-natal sex determination.

Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Reena Singh Nag asked for the status report from the Delhi Police Special Cell which had registered a case under Pre-Conception and Pre-Natal Diagnostic Techniques (Prohibition of Sex Selection) Act, 1994 (PNDT Act) and Information Technology Act, 2000 at its Lodhi Road Police Station against the company.

The Reliance Infocomm is accused of violating provisions of the law by depicting information about sex determination of foetus on its website.
