RIL Corp Governance panel examining Anil's note
Sunday, January 23 2005 16:13 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

New Delhi: Reliance Group flagship RIL (Reliance Industries Limited)'s independent director and head of Board's Corporate Governance Committee Y P Trivedi today (Jan 23, 2005) said his Committee was looking into all the issues relating to corporate governance practices raised by Anil Ambani.

Confirming receipt of the voluminous note sent by RIL Vice Chairman Anil on issues of corporate governance ahead of the company's Board meeting on January 21, Trivedi told reporters from Mumbai on phone "we have received it. We are looking into it."

Spotlight: Battle of Ambanis

Trivedi, who was asked to head the Committee by the RIL Board on December 27, said that it would take time to look into the issues raised by Anil, engaged in a bitter battle with elder brother Mukesh, who is heading the flagship company.

After the January 21 Board Meeting, Trivedi had said that there was no violation of Corporate Governance Norms and that everything was in place relating to issues concerning RIL's investment in Reliance Infocomm, headed by Mukesh Ambani.

Discuss this topic

"He (Anil) has to write to the Board which would refer the matter to the CG panel. There is no shying away from any issue raised or referred to us. We will go through them," Trivedi had told reporters on January 21 when asked about the issues raised by Anil Ambani.
