Mukesh proposes one-on-one meeting with Anil
Friday, January 21 2005 21:57 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

New Delhi: Beyond their public spat, the Ambani brothers have explored the possibility of ending their feud through one-on-one discussion with the elder brother Mukesh proposing a meeting but the younger sibling Anil insisting that such a meeting will be productive only if a "fair and equitable proposal" is made.

Spotlight: Battle of Ambanis

The two brothers, who live in the same building "Seawind" in Mumbai, have exchanged letters as a possible way out of the current public wrangling over the ownership of the Rs 90,000-crore Reliance Empire, it was revealed tonight (Jan 21, 2005).

Sources in the camp of Mukesh Ambani, the 48-year-old Chairman of the flagship company Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) said that he had written four times to his brother Anil, two years younger than him, expressing a desire to meet to sort out the differences among them.

Anil had responded by stating that he was willing to meet in the presence of their mother Kokilaben and other family members provided there was a "fair and equitable proposal" for a solution.

Today's disclosures came in the wake of Anil's suggestion yesterday for a way out to meet one-on-one with his brother Mukesh.
