Mukesh Ambani meets Finance Ministry officials

New Delhi: Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani, who is engaged in a battle with younger brother Anil over ownership of Reliance Group, today (Jan 11, 2005) spent the day in the capital holding important meetings with top officials of Finance Ministry and some others.

Mukesh also participated in the pre-budget discussions Finance Minister P Chidambaram held with industrialists this afternoon at the North Block.

Immediately after the pre-budget meeting, Mukesh rushed to Economic Affairs Secretary Rakesh Mohan with scores of journalists and lens men following him. However, he declined to reply to numerous questions relating to the ongoing battle between him and Anil or the buy-back programme of RIL.

Thereafter, he met Revenue Secretary K M Chandrashekar before going to airport for departure to Mumbai.

Reliance officials accompanying him, including RIL Group president V Balasubramanian, also evaded queries on the purpose of Mukesh's meeting with the officials.
