Mphasis Q3 net profits dips by 6% at Rs 26.85 crore

Bangalore: Software and BPO firm Mphasis BFL today (Jan 11, 2005) posted a 6.1 per cent dip in net profits at Rs 26.85 crore for the third quarter ending December, as against Rs 28.49 crore during the same period last year.

The Bangalore-based Mphasis reported a 29.06 per cent jump in third quarter revenues at Rs 191.8 crore, as against Rs 148.6 crore during October to December 2003, a company statement said in Bangalore.

Mphasis added 13 new clients, including nine in software services while its workforce touched over 8,000 strong with a net addition of 821 people during the quarter, which included 591 people for the BPO operations.

"The BPO business continues to show steady growth and increasing profitability. We have had some good client acquisitions in both our IT and BPO businesses this quarter which augurs well for the next fiscal," Mphasis Chairman and CEO Jerry Rao said.

Mphasis said billing rates were stable at $ 62 per hour for onsite software services and $ 20 per hour for offshore work.
