Amar Singh refuses to comment on the Ambani feud
Friday, January 7 2005 15:39 Hrs (IST) - World Time -

Mumbai: Samajwadi Party (SP) general secretary Amar Singh, known for his proximity to Vice-Chairman of Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL), Anil Ambani, refused to comment on the ongoing feud between the Ambani brothers.

"I will not comment," Singh said when his attention was drawn to reports that the differences between Congress and BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party) were having effects on the tussle between the two brothers.

Replying to a query about the Reliance Energy project that has been initiated in Uttar Pradesh, Singh said the project was going on.

"Anil Ambani is still the chairman of Reliance Energy and he has not approached us to say that there is any problem," Singh said while adding that a deal has been struck between REL and UP Government and said that on-going developments in Reliance will have no implication on the deal.

"Now they have to deal with whatever comes up," Singh said referring to fears that REL may not have enough gas supply to produce electricity in the State.
