NASDAQ-listed Pervasive Software, a global leader in data infrastructure software, today (Jan 7, 2005) announced the launch of operations in Bangalore to diversify its global capabilities.
With the opening of India Development Centre in Bangalore, Pervasive establishes a more diverse product engineering infrastructure designed to speed the time required for ringing new products to market, company officials said.
The company employs more than 25 people in Bangalore and the number would go up to at least 100 by the end of the current calendar year, said the company's president and CEO David Sikora at a press conference.
The development of product engineering infrastructure in India and planned expansion would allow Pervasive to strengthen its ability to undertake leading-edge product development activities from design to deployment, officials said.
Jaisimha Muthegere, director of India software operations, said as an extension of the US operations in Austin, Texas, the India development centre would focus on full-fledged product development including core R&D work, not just maintenance, that would directly address critical customer and market needs.
The company said it has more than 35,000 customers globally, and added that it's dedicated to providing data infrastructure software built specifically to meet the demands of mid-size companies and departments of Global 2000 enterprises who demand flexibility, speed to value and low total cost of ownership.
