Anil Ambani resigns as the VC, director of IPCL

New Delhi: Anil Ambani today (Jan 3, 2005) resigned as Vice Chairman and Director of the Reliance group company IPCL (Indian Petrochemical Corporation Limited).

When contacted a spokesperson for Anil Ambani, who is engaged in a battle with elder brother Mukesh over control of the Reliance empire, confirmed the news.

The Reliance Industries had acquired erstwhile public sector petrochemical company (IPCL) in 2002 by successfully bidding for Government equity and become a strategic partner in IPCL.

Mukesh Ambani is heading the petrochemical company.
