Mumbai: The BSE (Bombay Stock Exchange) Sensex today (Dec 29, 2004) breached the 6600-mark minutes after resumption of trade and touched a peak of 6610 before mild profit-taking pushed it down to a low of 6590.

The index opened at 6594.39.

Renewed buying drove it to 6602.24 at 10:04 hrs with sentiments bullish for further gains on the back of rising foreign fund inflows into the booming stock market, dealers said.

The Benchmark closed at an all-time peak of 6563.48 yesterday.
