RIL wins 3 National Energy Conservation Awards Wednesday, December 15 2004 16:18 Hrs (IST) - World Time Mumbai:
Reliance Industries Limited's (RIL) plants at Hazira and Jamnagar have won the National Energy Conservation Awards 2004.
The awards were presented by Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh in New Delhi today (Dec 15, 2004).

The Ministry of Power, Government of India, presents the 'National Energy Conservation Awards' to promote and inspire energy Conservation. The awards are a means to institutionalise the energy efficiency movement in the country by identifying and giving recognition to the energy conservation efforts undertaken by different companies, firms and industries.
While the Reliance plant at Hazira has won the first position in Petrochemicals Sector and the plant at Jamnagar has won the first position in Refinery Sector and RIL Patalganga was awarded a special award in the Petrochemicals Sector.

RIL Hazira had undertaken 45 energy conservation schemes, while RIL's Patalganga plant implemented 15 energy conservation schemes and Jamnagar plant undertook 12 schemes in 2003-04, according to Reliance sources.
