Cognizant chooses IBM's Rational Software
Wednesday, December 15 2004 13:53 Hrs (IST) - World Time

Bangalore: IBM today (Dec 15, 2004) announced that Cognizant Technology Solutions, a leading provider of information technology services, has chosen IBM Rational Software to further strengthen its software development capabilities.

"IBM Rational tools help speed up software development time through automation, process standardisation and enhanced team collaboration," according to an IBM statement.

Spanning the entire software development lifecycle, IBM Rational tools provide Cognizant the flexibility, interoperability and adaptability that would enable Cognizant to transition to an "on demand" scenario, while servicing its internal and customer project delivery teams, it said.

The statement said Rational also helps Cognizant consolidate the tools spread across projects on to a common pool to enable better utilisation and tools availability across the organisation, driving standardisation and re-use.

"Cognizant has been designing and implementing next generation business platforms and high-velocity applications that require rapid deployment cycles," said Srikanth Sundararajan, CTO of Cognizant.

"As these applications are used by thousands of end-users simultaneously, Cognizant needed a robust, proven framework for development. The choice of IBM Rational suite helps Cognizant build complex applications faster and better, through an integrated toolset," Sundararajan added.
