Wipro inks multi-million dollar deal with TUI UK
Tuesday, December 14 2004 18:04 Hrs (IST) - World Time

Bangalore: Wipro Technologies, the global IT services division of Wipro Limited, today (Dec 14, 2004) announced that it has been awarded a five-year, multi-million dollar contract for infrastructure support and management by TUI UK.

As part of the contract, Wipro's remote infrastructure practice will be providing desktop support for around 10,000 desktops, 300 servers, L1/L2 helpdesk, monitoring and messaging services across 800 locations in the UK for TUI UK.

TUI UK is part of TUI AG, the largest travel company in Europe, with over 3,700 travel agencies, 100 aircraft and 285 hotels with over 157,000 beds in 25 countries, according to a Wipro statement.

"We did a detailed evaluation before choosing Wipro. The key for Wipro being chosen as our preferred partner was its vast experience and execution capability in the IT infrastructure space for managing such complex and large projects," said Jim Mann, CIO TUI Northern Europe.

"This is a strategic customer acquisition for Wipro in the infrastructure management space," said G K Prasanna, Vice-President, Technology Infrastructure Services, Wipro Technologies.
