RIL's 'full Board' was invited for REL Board meet

Mumbai: Amid raging battle between Ambani brothers over the ownership issue, Reliance Energy (REL) today (Dec 7, 2004) said the full Board of Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL), the single largest shareholder in Reliance Energy, including its CMD Mukesh Ambani had attended the day-long meeting on October 20, 2004.

"This is the first time ever in the history of corporate India that a listed company has called the full Board of its majority shareholder to one of its board meetings," Reliance Energy said in a communication to Bombay Stock Exchange.

"The unprecedented decision is in line with REL's commitment to uphold the highest standards of transparency and corporate governance in its functioning," the company said.
