REL board asks directors to reconsider resignations

Mumbai: Reliance Energy Board today (Nov 30, 2004) asked its six directors to reconsider their resignations.

Spotlight: Battle of Ambanis After over three-hour long meeting, a company spokespersons said that the "board has asked the directors to reconsider resignations."

Six directors including executive vice chairman Satish Seth had resigned on November 25 at the height of feud between Reliance Industries, which has majority stake in REL, chairman Mukesh Ambani and his younger brother Anil who is heading the energy company.

The REL (Reliance Energy Ltd) board will separately consult RIL (Reliance Industries Ltd) board future prospects of the company and related issues, the spokesperson said but did not elaborate.

REL CMD had urged the directors to continue working in the company.
