There are long hours and long days: Anil Ambani
Friday, November 26 2004 11:03 Hrs (IST)

Mumbai: Breaking his silence over the rift in Reliance Group, Anil Ambani said, if necessary, he would make a statement on the issue at an appropriate time.

Indicating a long drawn strife, Anil said, "There are long hours and there are going to be long days."

"You would appreciate that I have not spoken till now and I will continue in that mode. I am not going to comment at this stage on any other issue. I will wait till the appropriate time and if necessary I will make a statement," Anil, who is the vice chairman of Reliance Industries Ltd, told reporters at his Reliance Centre office in South Mumbai.

He said the REL (Reliance Energy Limited) board would consider the resignation of six directors at an appropriate time and keep the stock exchanges, investors and media informed about the developments.

Ever since his elder brother Mukesh went public with his views on ownership issues in the Rs 90,000 crore Reliance empire and followed it up with a statement that he was the final authority on all issues concerning the group, it was expected that Anil would come out with his version.
