CPI-based inflation rises by 4 pc in October Thursday, November 25 2004 20:11 Hrs (IST)

Inflation based on consumer price index rose by 4 per cent in October this year.
The All India Consumer Price Index for urban non-manual employees stood at 440 points for October compared to 423 points in the year ago period, according to official figures released in New Delhi.
The index increased by 3 points in a month from 437 points in September.
The CPI (Communist Party of India) was highest for Chennai at 522 points in October followed by Delhi (449), Mumbai (438) and Kolkata (408).
