CPI-based inflation rises by 4 pc in October

New Delhi: Inflation based on consumer price index rose by 4 per cent in October this year.

The All India Consumer Price Index for urban non-manual employees stood at 440 points for October compared to 423 points in the year ago period, according to official figures released in New Delhi.

The index increased by 3 points in a month from 437 points in September.

The CPI (Communist Party of India) was highest for Chennai at 522 points in October followed by Delhi (449), Mumbai (438) and Kolkata (408).

PTI
