Resignations will be considered at apt time: Anil
Thursday, November 25 2004 21:59 Hrs (IST)

Mumbai: Reliance Energy chairman Anil Ambani tonight (Nov 25, 2004) refused to join issues with his elder brother Mukesh Ambani on the raging battle between them.

He only said the resignation of six professional Directors from his company's board would be considered at the "appropriate time".

Speaking for the first time to the media since differences between him and his elder brother and Reliance Chairman Mukesh Ambani, he said the Reliance Energy Board will consider the resignations at an appropriate time and will keep the stock exchange, investors and media informed of developments taking place.

"I am not going to comment at this stage on any other issue. I have not spoken on other issues and I will continue in that mode. When the appropriate time comes, when it is necessary and if necessary I will make comments on other issues," he said.

Ever since Mukesh went public with his views on the "ownership issues" in the Rs 90,000 crore Reliance Empire and followed it up with a statement that he was the final authority on all issues concerning the group, it was expected that Anil would come out with his version.
