Bangalore: Wipro Technologies, the global IT services division of Wipro Limited, today (Nov 17, 2004) announced that it has been awarded the "HP IPV6-Ready Solution Partner" certification at the International Tandem Users Group (ITUG) Summit 2004, held in San Jose, California (USA).

"IPv6 is the next generation Internet Protocol, and as corporations move from IPv4 to IPv6 based networks, they are faced with the challenge of migrating their existing applications," said Christopher Rooke, VP, Marketing and Non-Stop Solutions, HP.

He also added that, "We share a long relationship with Wipro and this award is recognition of their understanding of IPv6 and their expertise on the HP Non-Stop platform."

Wipro said in a statement it has developed a tool that can help HP's customers to enable faster and smoother migration of IPv4 based applications to IPv6.

The statement said Wipro is the largest independent provider of embedded and product engineering services in the world. This group offers VLSI (Very Large-Scale Integration) and product engineering services for the computing platforms, peripherals, consumer and automotive electronics, mobile devices and industrial automation groups, it was stated.
