Bosch to hire 600 software engineers in B'lore

Bangalore: German auto engineering major Robert Bosch on Friday (Nov 5, 2004) said it will add 600 software engineers at its India software and engineering centre in Bangalore by August 2005.

Robert Bosch India, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the privately-held German major for six years, currently has 1,800 professionals and is the largest of Bosch companies outside Germany, a company statement said in Bangalore.

Bosch will invest Rs 85 crore in a new 31,000 sq mt building in Bangalore for housing the additional engineers, who will work on new areas like common rail diesel system, anti-lock braking system and other technologies in the automotive and non-automotive field.

The new facility can house 1,400 professionals. Robert Bosch India is developing embedded software for control units, tools and diagnostics, besides mechanical design services and shared service centre accounting for Bosch operations worldwide, it said.
