India's costliest bike from Kinetic at Rs 1.67 lakh
Tuesday, October 26 2004 18:29 Hrs (IST)

Bangalore: Kinetic Engineering has launched Comet 250, the country's most expensive bike at a price tag of Rs 1.67 lakh.

The company plans to sell only 500 units in the limited edition in select cities, Joint Managing Director Sulajja Firodia Motwani told reporters in Bangalore.

She indicated that Comet 250's launch is mainly part of the image-building exercise by the company.

The comet is from the stable of Hyosung Motors of Korea, technical collaborator of Kinetic, which is bringing it in completely knocked down kits and assembling at Ahmednagar plant.

Booking closes on November 20, she said.

The company is promoting it as the first real sports bike in India.

She said if Comet 250 is directly imported it's price is going to be at least twice.
