UK based 'Xansa' to double headcount to 5000 in India
Sunday, October 17 2004 19:11 Hrs (IST)

New Delhi: UK-based IT software and services firm Xansa plans to double its headcount in India to 5,000 in the next six to eight quarters.

"We currently have close to 2,500 people in India and this figure will double in next 12 to 24 months," Executive Chairman of Xansa India Saurabh Shrivastava told sources today (Oct 17, 2004).

"Our commitment to India is serious and Xansa will probably be the only global company whose 50 per cent of the staff is in India," he said.

"We are growing fast in India but not at the cost of other locations. Growth at other locations also continue on account of increase in business," Shrivastava said.

To accomodate its growing headcount in India, the company is creating a capacity of 10,000 seats. While work on 27-acre campus in Chennai and 17-arce facility in Pune continues, the company has hired another building in Noida.

"We are creating capacity to accomodate 10,000 people and expect to exhaust the capacity in three to five years," he said.

The third building in Noida that Xansa recently acquired can accomodate 200-250 people.

At present 75 per cent of Xansa India revenues come from software while 25 per cent come from Business Process Outsourcing (BPO).

"While both software and BPO are both growing. BPO is growing faster. In future BPO and software will contribute equally to our business," Shrivastava said.

Xansa has invested Rs 160 crore in India in last two years. India arm of Xansa is involved in servicing 75 per cent of all its clients worldwide.
