Reliance India Mobile on Tuesday (Oct 12, 2004) announced Phase-II of its expansion plan to take its number of subscribers beyond 10 million mark.
Under Phase-II, there are plans to bring at least 5,000 cities across the country under the RIM coverage and the number of subscribers would go above 10 million, a Reliance Infocomm official said.
He said the RIM subscriber base has already gone above 8 million and is touching 9 million mark in little over a year of its commercial launch in May 2003.
The expansion plan is expected to be completed by March 2005, he said.
He said the company has already improved its network across the country. The billing problems, faced initially, has been overcome and, 'now it is time for the consolidation'.
