Thiruvananthapuram: UK-based Allianz Cornhill has opened the second unit of Allianz Cornhill Information Services (ACIS) in Kerala.

Andrew Torrance, CEO, Allianz Cornhill, said that the company would expand its Indian operations. Offshoring of business processes was an inevitable by-product of the info-tech revolution, he said.

Torrance appreciated the high performance standards and professionalism displayed by the ACIS team which, he said, was on par with the dedication of their colleagues in Allianz Cornhill, UK.

Industries Minister P K Kunhalikutty thanked Allianz Cornhill for choosing Technopark as the site for its operations. He noted that the company planned to more than double its workforce of 175 by the end of 2005.

Allianz Cornhill India CEO Rakesh Gupta, General Manager (Personal Lines) Reudiger Schafer, and Offshore Director John Knowels were also present on the occasion.
