CyberMedia- Dice tie up for online tech recruiting

Bangalore: Speciality media house, CyberMedia, today (Sep 29, 2004) announced that it has entered into an agreement with the American firm Dice for online technology recruiting business in India.

The joint venture, CyberMedia Dice Careers Limited, would focus on the rapidly growing technology recruiting sector in India with key focus on software and services, CyberMedia Chairman and Managing Director Pradeep Gupta told reporters.

Dice is a leading provider of online recruiting services for technology and engineering professionals in the United States and has 55,000 technology jobs listed on their website.

The new venture would be headquartered in Bangalore and launched in three or four months, Gupta said.

CyberMedia's existing online venture, the CIOL network presently gets 750,000 visitors every month, making it India's largest technology portal. The jobs specific arm of the network CIOL Jobs, receives 120,000 visitors a month, he said.

He declined to specify the financial arrangement of the new venture but said CyberMedia's investment was in terms of the assets created by it while DICE would bring technology.

Initial focus would be on technology jobs but it would later be extended to other areas, including engineering space.

CyberMedia is expected to earn Rs 75 crore in revenues during the current fiscal ending March 31, 2005, he said. Last year, it reported Rs 58 crore in revenues.
