Chennai: Outsourcing of animation and R&D works are the next big opportunities for India's BPO sector, a top industry official said on Saturday (Sep 25, 2004).

"Animation is all about concept creation, selling dreams and imagining the impossible stuff. It also involves lot of creativity and hard work, and offers an ideal opportunity for the Indian BPO industry," T S Rangarajan, global head (RFID solutions) TCS said at a discussion on 'emerging trends in ITES' at 'Connect 2004' in Chennai.

Quoting a study by Ireland-based Research and Markets, he said India would be a favourite destination for R&D outsourcing, given its vast pool of technically qualified, trained and English speaking population. The R&D BPO business of India has been projected to touch $ 8 billion by 2010.
