Govt expects inflation to start sliding down from now
The Government said today (Sep 24, 2004) that inflation, which went up marginally to 7.87 per cent for the week ended September 11, will start coming down as it will ensure that there is no shortage of essential commodities before the festival season.

Sensex extends losing streak, down by 11.73 pts
The sensex extended it's losing streak for the second successive day and was down by 11.73 points to close at 5527.75 on the Stock Exchange in Mumbai today (Sep 24, 2004) on profit-booking by operators as well as domestic funds on concerns over surging global crude oil prices and weak overseas advices.

Costlier products push up Inflation marginally
After falling substantially in the previous week, inflation rose marginally by 0.06 per cent to 7.87 per cent for the week ended Sep 11, 2004 mainly due to costlier manufactured products including some edible oils.
