'We will give highest priority to tame inflation'
Under attack from the Opposition and Left supporters on spiralling inflation, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh today (Aug 21, 2004) declared that price stability was among the highest priorities of his Government and promised to tame inflation.

Demutualisation of stock exchanges soon: SEBI chairman
The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) chairman G N Bajpai today (Aug 21, 2004) said that demutualisation of all stock exchanges in the country would be completed soon and the probe report on the May 14 stock debacle would be out soon.
