Sonata net profits up 45 %; to increase headcount Monday, July 26 2004 17:51 Hrs (IST)

Sonata Software today (July 26, 2004) reported a net profit of Rs 3.69 crore in the first quarter ended June, up by 45 per cent over Rs 2.54 crore reported during the same period last year.
The Bangalore IT firm revenues jumped by 27 per cent at Rs 23.8 crore during the first quarter, as against Rs 18.72 crore posted during the same period last year, a company statement said in Bangalore.
"The growth in this quarter has been the result of a conscious strategy to build scalable relationships with customers," Sonata President and Managing Director, B Ramaswamy said.
"Spurred by the success of this strategy, we are expanding operations with a third development centre in Bangalore and increasing the headcount," he said.
