TCS first quarter net surges 71% Wednesday, July 21 2004 20:40 Hrs (IST)

Tata Consultancy Services has reported a 71.28 per cent rise in net profit at Rs 519 crore (Rs 5.19 billion) for the first quarter ended June 30, 2004, compared to Rs 303 crore (Rs 3.03 billion) in the corresponding quarter last fiscal.
Kicking off the road-show for the TCS initial public offering on Wednesday (July 21, 2004), the company's chief executive officer S Ramadorai said revenues of the Tata group division rose from Rs 1,526 crore (Rs 15.26 billion) to Rs 2,134 crore (Rs 21.34 billion) in Q1 of FY05.
