Bangalore: US-based Continuous Computing Corporation has established a wholly owned subsidiary and development centre in Bangalore to cater to new product development and also provide sales and support to regional customers in India, China, Korea and Japan besides winning more customers in this country.

The privately-held San Diego-headquartered firm, a supplier of high availability network service-ready platform solutions for telecom equipment manufacturers, said it plans to invest over $ three million to expand its Indian operations over the next few years.

The company's Chairman and CEO, Ken Kalb, told reporters that the firm currently has an engagement with CDOT, and is looking to win more customers in the telecom equipment manufacturing space "and are in discussions with many of them".

Managing Director for Continuous Computing India Pvt Ltd, Pradeep Malhotra, said the subsidiary currently has 20 employees and the headcount is expected to be scaled up to 75 to 100 in the next couple of years.

Investors and strategic partners in the company include China Development Industrial Bank, Technology Crossover Ventures and Intel Capital Corp.

The company said it provides high availability hardware, software, middleware, and integrated solutions that enable OEMs to quickly deploy Voice over IP, intelligent network and 3G wireless applications for rapid time-to-market and return-on-investment.
